About Bridgeway

Since its founding in Elizabeth, New Jersey, 57 years ago, Bridgeway Behavioral Health Services, a not-for-profit organization, has grown from providing one vocational program for people experiencing mental health disabilities to providing a range of community-based urgent care, short-term and long-term services for more than 6000 people and families experiencing mental health challenges.

Bridgeway staff work diligently to assist individuals who want to remain independent in their communities, with supportive housing and wrap-around support services. Recently, Bridgeway began to provide comprehensive outpatient services for children, teens, adults, and families in three locations, with plans to renovate a Bridgeway building in the City of Elizabeth that will serve as a vital center for outpatient and substance use services. We offer specialized counseling for older adults and veterans, as well as bi-lingual Spanish staff and access to multi-lingual services. We also provide substance use treatment in Hudson County and plan to expand addiction services to additional high-need areas in the months ahead. Additionally, Bridgeway was recently chosen to provide 988 crisis response services in five NJ counties.

Bridgeway Behavioral Health Services is known across the northern region of the state of New Jersey for providing evidence-based multi-disciplinary treatment for mental illness and substance use in eleven counties. Thirteen Bridgeway locations include hospital-diversion living room model crisis intervention centers in Hudson, Somerset and Union Counties.

Bridgeway is carrying out a growth plan dedicated to answering the growing need for behavioral health services among our family, friends, neighbors and co-workers.
